Season 1
Key Moments + Life Lessons in Season 1: 90
In Season 1 of "Ted Lasso," the series follows the titular character, Ted Lasso, an upbeat American college football coach hired to manage a struggling English Premier League soccer team, AFC Richmond.
Rebecca Welton is the primary female lead and owner of AFC Richmond. She received the club as part of her divorce settlement and intent on destroying the club to get revenge on her ex, Rupert.
Through unwavering positivity, genuine connections, and themes of forgiveness, season 1 highlights the transformative power of optimism, resilience, and the impact of authentic relationships on both the team and individuals.

s1e1 - Pilot
Rebecca responds back to George with confidence despite his rudeness and lack of respect for her. She maintains her composure after he insults her multiple times. Lesson: Don’t let people get under your skin, be you and be confident in who you are.
Guy on plane asks for an “ussie” - it’s not a “selfie” because there is more than one person in the picture!
“Taking on a challenge is a lot like riding a horse, isn’t it? If you’re comfortable while you’re doing it, you’re probably doing it wrong.” Ted to Beard on the airplane flying to England.
Ted couldn’t sleep on the plane. Lesson: Force yourself to sleep on overnight flights or else you are going to be miserable!
Ted meets Ollie, his driver and befriends him. Lesson: You never know who you are going to meet and what their life is like. Be nice to everyone!
Ted asks Nate for his name and Nate is shocked. Same lesson as above.
Nate totally cracks when he was supposed to introduce Ted and Beard to Rebecca. Lesson: Learn to be assertive and confident. (Which he does later in the show!)
Rebecca: “Do you believe in ghosts Ted?” Ted: “I do, but more importantly, I think they need to believe in themselves.” This is a core belief for Ted Lasso and helps set the foundation for his beliefs and operating principles. Lesson: We all need to believe in ourselves.
Ted asks Rebecca how she’s doing with the divorce. Shows us how much he cares and we see Rebecca is not expecting this at all. Lesson: Ask people how they are doing and care about their answer.
Ted is honest with the press. Lesson: Be transparent. Trying to hide things makes it worse.
Ted appreciates Nate’s sports mix. Lesson: Tell people what you appreciate them and about their efforts, the more specific you are, the better. It means a lot for others to hear they are appreciated and details make it more meaningful. Also - appreciate the little things in life!
Beard and Ted push their desks together to make a more collaborative work environment.

Ted falls asleep while they are setting up their office. Lesson: Stay awake during normal “wake hours” if you’re traveling to a new time zone!

Ted covers Keeley’s breasts in Jamie’s locker, Keeley sees what he did and appreciates it. Lesson: Respect other people’s bodies!
Higgins reacts with his disgusted “dry vomit” gesture to show that he does not support the current situation, something he repeats throughout the show.
Ted trys to connect with Michelle, but his efforts are pushing her away even more. That’s also one of the reasons he took the job so far away. Lesson: Sometimes people need space to allow for a better connection to form.
s1e2 - Biscuits
Ted says “Be a goldfish” to Sam for the first time and “have a 10 second memory.” Lesson: Don’t let little mistakes hold you back. Keep your head up and keep moving forward.
“Take your sweater off before you shower” - Jamie to Roy. Not a life lesson, just funny!
Ted gets army men from son, puts them up in apartment to keep him safe. Lesson: Sometimes a small token can keep ideas and people top of mind.
Keeley asks people if she should be “a Lion or Panda?” for her shoot. Ted says panda. Rebecca says lion with conviction. Jamie says “myself.” Ted: “I don’t know if you know how psychologically healthy that is!” Lesson: The best we can be is ourselves. No growth in trying to be someone else.
s1e3 - Trent Crimm: The Independent
“I have a real tricky time hearing folks that don’t believe in themselves.” Ted.
Ted wants to see Rebecca and Michelle Obama arm wrestle 😂 .
If a teacher tells a bully not to pick on someone you only make it worse.
“You know what you do with tough cookies, right? You dip them in milk!” - Ted.
“I’ve never concerned myself too much with wins and losses.” - Ted to Trent.
Keeley gives Rebecca a little cactus. First time they talk / share a moment.
“I love coaching. Success is not about the winds and losses. It’s about helping these young fellas be the best versions of themselves on and off the field. It ain’t always easy but neither is growing up without someone believing in you.” Ted explaining to Trent why he is coaching.
Roy reading “A Wrinkle in Time” and realizing that “it has to be me, it can’t be anyone else.”
Trent becomes a surprising fan of Ted Lasso, writing a wonderful article about him despite believing that he will fail, saying: “I can’t help but root for him.”
s1e4 - For the Children
Keeley helps Rebecca taking pictures at the charity benefit, further developing their relationship.
Ted wants Roy and Jamie to find mutual respect and common ground.
“Youth is wasted on the young; well I say don’t let the wisdom of age be wasted on you.” - Ted
Rebecca opens up to Ted.
Roy and Jamie open up to each other and have a real conversation.
Rebecca and Keeley chat in the bathroom - Rebecca shares that Rupert was not accountable once in 12 years. This makes Keeley.

s1e5 - Tan Lines
Rebecca offers Keeley a job. Lesson: Invest in people you believe in, even if they are a friend! Lesson: Work with good people that are hard workers and you believe in.
Open peanut butter on the counter, referencing Ted’s habit.
It’s mentioned that Nate’s Dad was a cartographer.
“If you’re with the right person, even the hard times are easy.” - Higgins.
Ted takes Jamie out of the game. Big moment to show he’s serious about culture and attitude.
Roy shakes Ted’s hand and says “took balls what you did.” This is the first sign of respect from Roy!
Roy and Keeley have a moment in the parking lot at night after he scares her.
Michelle says that Ted would be “letting Michelle go” not quitting… Ted then gives Michelle permission to get divorced. This is a big step for him.
s1e6 - Two Aces
Repeating “plan” is semantic satiation, when words becomes noises and loose their meaning.
Dani Rojas comes on the show with amazing energy and attitude.
Twist on “Practice” Allen Iverson bit - Ted getting mad at Jamie.
No schadenfreude zone at AFC Richmond. Schadenfreude is a German term that describes the feeling of pleasure or joy derived from witnessing the misfortune, pain, or failure of others. It involves finding satisfaction or happiness in someone else's difficulties or downfall. Essentially, it's the experience of feeling pleased when others encounter adversity.
The papers dub Rebecca Welton “Old Rebecca.”

s1e7 - Make Rebecca Great Again
Rebecca invites Keeley to come with her to Liverpool.
Sass surprises Rebecca!
Team watches ‘Iron Giant’ movie together.
Ted gets mad at Nate unnecessarily. Ted is really mad about his divorce.
Sass tells Keeley that Rebecca is silly and more fun, not cold. This gives us a peak into Rebecca’s true character and how she was jaded by her relationship with Rupert.
Sass to Rebecca: “you have to own up to the part that you played. You climbed every step in the ivory tower.” Lesson: We have to own our mistakes, we can’t blame them on others.
Rebecca sings!!
Ted panic attack, Rebecca comes to him, showing him genuine care and concern.
Ted signs the divorce papers.
Ted spends the night with Sassy, Rebecca’s friend.
Kelley and Roy kiss but Roy walks away after.
s1e8 - The Diamond Dogs
Keeley tries to connect with Roy multiple times but he’s cold and unaware of how his actions made her feel. Lesson: Be aware of your words and how you’re treating others, treat others the way you’d want to be treated, especially in romantic endeavors!
“You seem intent on going 12 rounds with yourself… Why?” Higgins to Ted.
Beard and Nate tell Ted he needs to cut himself some slack.
Diamond Dogs are formed!
Jamie tells Keeley thank you and that he realizes how much she did for him… which leads to Jamie and Keeley hooking up.
Keeley confronts Roy about his behavior and Roy shares that he wants to do things differently. Lesson: Be open and honest.
Roy comes to diamond dogs for help in getting over Keeley previously having a relationship with Jamie. First time he is vulnerable. “Don’t let her past impact y’alls future.” Lesson: Don’t let your feelings control you. You can’t be a hypocrite. As Beard says “Grow up and get over it.”
Keeley is working with the players on potential sponsorships, Dani wants to give joy away for free. Something we can all do more of!
Keeley and Roy mend their misunderstandings in the press room and on their first date. Roy is transparent about his yoga nights. Lesson: Be willing to admit your mistakes so you can move forward into bigger and better things. Be transparent.
Epic dart scene with Ted, Rebecca, and Rupert. Ted eloquently teaches Rupert a lesson and shares the additional lesson with all of us to “be curious, not judgmental.” Ted shows us he can “close” when the stakes are high. This scene also carries extra weight because of the relationship Ted mentions with his father and the beloved memory of them playing darts together.
Higgins has had enough of Rebecca’s plot to destroy the club and he quits. Lesson: Stand up for what you believe in.
In that same scene, Higgins says “You won’t take away your pain by constantly punishing Rupert.” Rebecca challenges him and asks him how he could hide the fact that Rupert was sneaking around cheating on her all those years, Higgins replies that he has to carry that burden. Lesson: You won’t feel better by making others feel bad.
Keeley finds out about Rebecca ordering the blackmail photos from earlier this season and confronts Rebecca. Keeley tells Rebecca she has to come clean. Lesson: Sometimes you have to hold your friends accountable. And you have to do the right thing, even if it’s scary.
s1e9 - All Apologies

Keeley holds Rebecca accountable
Rebecca’s ex tells her he’s going to have a baby, to make her feel even more horrible, he tells her in person. Lesson: Leave people alone. If you’ve ended things, just move on.
Rebecca tells Ted that she was sabotaging him and trying to destroy the team all along. He forgives her immediately. Lesson: Believe in the goodness of people and what’s true in their hearts, not what they do when they are hurt.
Rebecca apologies to and rehires Higgins, a sweet moment. Lesson: Make amends!
s1e10 - The Hope That Kills You
“Y’all say ‘It’s the hope that kills you’… but it’s not having hope that kills you.” - Ted
“Do you believe in miracles?” Reference to the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team who achieved the impossible.
“Not going for a tie; going for a win.” - Ted. This becomes ironic later.
Roy chases Jamie down to prevent him from scoring, leaving it all on the line but also ending his career with an injury. Probably the best possible way for Roy Kent to leave the game of football.
Jamie makes the extra pass! Ted later sends him a “good job” note about it.
It’s easier to lose together rather than to lose alone.

s2e1 - Goodbye Earl
“There’s two buttons I never like to hit, panic and snooze.” - Ted.
Dani accidentally killing Earl opens up space for Dr. Sharon, a Sports Psychologist to come into the team.
Ted’s heartwarming story about dog that bit him then ended up taking care of him.
s2e2 - Lavender
“All people are different people.” - Beard to Ted, when Ted says he doesn’t like therapy and Beard reminds him of his dancer story. Lesson: We should remember that not all people are the same, we can’t judge someone new based off our past experiences.
Roy to Rebecca - “Don’t you dare settle for fine. You deserve someone that makes you feel you’ve been stuck by fucking lightning.” Pretty clear life lesson about romantic relationships!
Jamie decides to leave football to “build my brand.” Lesson: don’t make short term decisions, know what’s important.
Not everyone has great fathers - bringing Jamie back to give him a chance.

Rebecca sees that Ted will be lonely on Christmas so she invites him along with her. Lesson: Include others! Better to spend the holidays with others rather than be alone.
Overall Lesson: Share your gifts with others… it doesn’t have to be money.
Higgins becoming more popular with the players shows his impact and also that the team wants to be together, they have bonded are creating real team culture.

Roy says that Ted has stifled Jamie and that Jamie needs to balance out his playing so they can use him to his full potential! Lesson: Sometimes you gotta be the asshole. Don’t dim your gifts! Be a team player but not so much that you shrink.
Ted learning and teaching us that it’s OK to ask for help.
If you repress your feelings and issues for too long, you will explode!
Nate is learning that it’s OK to mess up, you can fail in safe environments. Lesson: You can’t have growth without failure. Be supportive of those who are trying. Fear of failure is the death of innovation.
s2e7 - Headspace
Higgins - say what you’re feeling… insecurity.
“My relationship is the oxygen that gives me life.” - Higgins.
Roy is learning that sometimes, you need space in relationship. Keeley learning that she needs to communicate that better. Lesson: Relationships are a balance of love & mystery, we need space to be healthy. Avoid being co-dependent. Look up Esther Perel to learn more.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.
Sharon tells Ted that his belief that “therapists don’t care” is not true. And that it’s OK to charge for your work, Ted doesn’t work for free. Lesson: We need to respect and pay those that help us through mental and emotional challenges, even though we can’t “see” the challenge, it’s an incredibly valuable skill and service.

Season 3 of “Ted Lasso” sees our beloved characters continuing to grow and evolve, with nearly everyone improving in some way. They also get more serious about winning.
s3e1 - Smells Like Mean Spirit
Ted still working with Sharon! Lesson: It is so important to continuing supporting your mental health! Not a one and done thing.
Teaching resilience and learning autonomy is healthy.
Ted can’t figure out why he’s still at AFC Richmond, he doesn’t believe.

Keeley spending 200 pounds a week on flowers for the office is not approved by Barbara. This is actually a lovely gesture though! Aesthetics matter. Lesson: People will work harder in a pleasant environment and where they feel cared about.

“One of my core beliefs is that nothing lasts forever.” - Phoebe to Keeley and Roy. Such a sad moment from such a young child. Lesson: Children pick up more than we think. We need to be careful and intentional with our actions and make sure they are getting the right messages.

s3e4 - Big Week
Sass and Ted hook up again… Ted is still a mess after divorce. Lesson: Take time to mend and don’t rush into things.
Zava - “Ignore the talking heads whether they are saying good or bad things.” Lesson: Don’t get too caught up about the things people say about you, don’t let it inflate your ego or bring you down."
“I’m a work in progmess.” - Ted to Rebecca after she says “Oklahoma” - their word that means they have to tell the truth.
Ted to Rebecca: “You already own you know, you got that turkey out of your life!” referring to Rupert.
Rebecca being way too intense to Ted “have fun” and I believe in you during the game when they are losing.
Rebecca sees Rupert kissing his assistant, later telling Rupert to “stop fucking around.” She doesn’t want him to repeat the same behavior to Bex, which is sweet and shows how good hearted she is, even after Rupert hurt her.
Keeley nicely telling Shandy away from Jack to correct her mistake. Great leadership lesson there!
Ted telling his ex, Michelle… “I have to tell you that I’m hurt, upset that we didn’t get to talk about it.” Also that he couldn’t hold this in - and they have to raise a little boy together. He needed to get it off his chest and share, it was great he did it in such a calm and respectful way.
s3e5 - Signs
Team is on a massive losing streak … Ted needs to take constructive criticism and make changes!

Roy learning how to ride a bike with Jamie. This is probably one of the best scenes from the show. Shows so much growth for both of them, Jamie gets a chance to help Roy with something.
Colin’s whole life being 2 lives hiding that he’s gay… “realized that I have an ache for his to 2 lives to become 1.”

s3e7 - The Strings That Bind Us
Sam’s restaurant is doing really well - “waiting list” is a lie we tell people.
Sam overthinking things before his Dad’s visit (spoons) - wanting everything to be perfect. Lesson: It doesn’t have to be perfect, the people we love care more about seeing us than material things. (Well, healthy people do at least!)
Total football - is about constant movement!
Trying something new - pay your friend a compliment.
3 things are important to total football: (1) Conditioning (2) Versatility (3) Awareness. Ted doesn’t know the fourth yet… and he doesn’t want to force it. Lesson: it’s okay to leave space for the unknown!
Keeley nervous about relationship, she doesn’t like to hide things - used to everyone knowning everything about me — then they share with office.
“What we shared transcended sex, it was gezellig.” - Rebecca to Keeley about her Amsterdam adventure.
Rebecca and Keeley haven’t seen each other for a while. Lesson: make time for your friends when when in new relationships!

Jack- “it’s not something to be proud of.” Keeley - “I don’t regret making that video, and I don’t regret sending it.” This reveals more about both their inner characters… Jack cares more about public appearance. Lesson: Women don’t have to be ashamed for being women and being sexual. Don’t apologize for things when you have a strong belief that what you did was not wrong.
s3e9 - La Locker Room Aux Folles
Keeley has sent A LOT of unanswered texts to Jack.
You’d rather eat a bowl of shit soup, then complain about the portions. Get out of your own way. “Woe is me” thing is ponderous. Rebecca to Roy.

Roy goes to help Isaac

“We care very much, and we hate that you’ve been going through it alone. We’re here for you.” - Ted says to Colin on behalf of the team.
Nate sees Rupert for who he is - an asshole.
Roy steps up to do presser! Big growth moment for him.
Roy opens up about story on his old team when he was young. Guy that beat him up but was going through a tough personal time and no one knew. Lesson: We don’t know what people are going through and it’s none of our business. Be kinder.
Issac - you lied to me for years. What is it about me that made you feel like you couldn’t tell me? Colin - it was about me. 99% sure you’d support me.
Isaac - Dunno how you did it. I can’t keep a secret. Colin - I know, I hid it for years, once you found out, I didn’t even last a month.
s3e10 - International Break
“I am the strong silent type, so I probably won’t let you know, but I’m also loud and weak, because I like all humans contain multitudes.” - Ted to team.
Dani being mean to Van Damme when they play for their home countries: Dani for Mexico and Van Damme for Canada. (Honestly I thought this was a little bit TOO MUCH aggression from Dani.)
Ted: “I don’t like gossip.” Rebecca: “it’s not gossip, it’s speculations.” Lesson: There is a fine line between gossip and speculations!

At the beginning, some people will hate it, because some people hate change. We used to only ride horses, now we can imagine being without our cars.
Remember they were once all a bunch of little boys.
Football isn’t just a game. It can make heroes and villains out of ordinary men. Just because we own these teams doesn’t mean they belong to us. I would hate for all the little kids and grown-ups up there to lose access to that beautiful part of themselves.
Nate’s Dad finally tells him how he really feels… didn’t know how to parent a genius. Pushed him to be the best at everything. I just want my son to be happy.
Rebecca sets boundaries with Rupert.
Roy apologizes to Keeley.
Keeley didn’t want to tell Rebecca about her being “fired” from her Venture Capital firm and having to close KJPR. She was ashamed and embarrassed. Then Renecca decides to invest in Keeley! Lesson: It’s okay to open up to your friends, chances are that they will be supportive and not judgemental.
Nate apologizes to Will, finally!
Rebecca tells Ted she wants to win for us all, it’s not just about her wanting to beat Rupert anymore. Lesson: Resentment will only hold you back from becoming a better version of yourself.
s3e11 - Mom City
A few guys from the team ask Nate to re-join the team, they said they haven’t told Ted and Nate declines.
Ted’s Mom arrives unexpectedly and makes similar jokes but also annoys him. Lesson: The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree… we are often a lot like our parents despite disliking some of their qualities.
Jamie is being super weird.
Shouting is Roy’s love language.
Jamie and Roy have a talk - Jamie’s tired. “Can’t sleep can’t eat. Feel like I’ve lost my wings.” This shows the importance of mental health.
“I do believe in second chances Ted. That’s why I’m still married and my 5 boys are still alive.” - Higgins
Roy asks for Keeley’s help with Jamie.
Running around in circles making sure everyone’s OK without excepting a drop of help for himself. (Ted’s Mom)
“They fuck you up, your mom and Dad. They give you their faults and some extra.” Man hands on misery to man. Get out as early as you can and don’t have any kids yourself. - Mae to Ted.
Nate admits he said “wonder kid” for the first time.
Keeley messes it up with Jamie more.
“You don’t have anything to prove to that toerag.” - Jamie’s Mom to Jamie.
“I don’t wanna be just friends.” - Roy admitting to Keeley how he feels.
Ted gives Jamie time to recover on the sidelines when he gets hurt, rather than replace him right away. This allows for Jamie to come back and score.
Don’t know where my dad is and it’s freaking me the fuck out. // hurt people hurt people. // what would you say to him now? Fuck you and thank you. If hating him isn’t working like it used to, forgive him. It’s for you not him.
We discover that Pep Guardiola (Real life manager of Manchester City) shares Ted Lasso’s sentiment for developing athletes! Pep: “It’s not about the wins and losses, it’s about helping these guys becoming the best version of themselves on and off the field.” Lesson: Focus less on winning and more on developing good character.
Jamie tells the team good job.
“I hope that all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments but rather by the strength we show when and if we’re ever given a second chance.” - Ted.
Beard gives Nate a second chance! We also learn Beard’s history and how Ted helped him.
Ted and his mom have a transparent conversation… Ted: “Fuck you for pretending everything was OK.” Ted’s Mom: “Parents win and lose but mostly we’ll accept a lot of ties.”
Bex & Rupert’s assistant go to Rebecca asking for her help and advice.
s3e12 - So Long, Farewell
Rebecca says “no comment” on Rupert’s divorce even to friends - she truly doesn’t care anymore.
The team performs beautiful “Sound of Music” Goodbye / Goodnight scene.
Rebecca is thinking about selling the club.
“Explore the world, but more importantly explore yourself.” - Rebecca’s Mom to Rebecca.
The 3 fans thank Rebecca and buy her dinner.
Touching moment between Jamie and Roy.. Roy: “Whatever happens on Sunday, I want you to know that I’m proud of you.” Jamie: “Thank you for helping me and encouraging me.” Shows they have truly created a friendship.
Jamie and Roy getting into a fight over who gets to be with Keeley - this is actually not growth and shows they both have work to do.
Rebecca asking Ted to reconsider leaving but Ted knows in his heart and his gut what’s right. We have to listen to our heart and gut.
Nate apologizing to Ted, they share a heartfelt moment.
Roy asking to become part of the Diamond Dogs - shows growth and maturity, being willing to open up to others and be emotionally vulnerable. Also the others in the group reflecting back that he has indeed changed, such a powerful moment from friends and colleagues.
“Change isn’t about trying to be perfect. Perfection sucks, perfection is boring.” - Beard
“Human beings are never going to be perfect, Roy. The best we can do it to keep asking for help and accepting it when you can. And if you keep on doing that, you’ll always be moving towards better.” - Higgins
Rebecca actually addresses Rupert for the first time, rather than him approaching her, showing her growth and ability to move on.
Dani apologies to Van Damme for kicking the ball directly into his face. And Van Damme FINALLY decides to go by Zorro!
Coach Beard puts together a memory video before the game and it’s incredibly meaningful and sentimental. A super thoughtful gift, it can create deeper meaning and connections. Maybe just not sharing it before an important match or presentation.
Fans in the bar rooting for the team, keeping the faith rather than getting mad after the first goal.
Ted giving the team a pep-talk during halftime… Before he talks about the game, he shares a moment of gratitude for the past 3 years. He’s loved watching them grow and develop and thanks them for their patience with them. If y’all play hard, play smart, play together, and believe, then we can go out with the peace of mind knowing we did our best.
Sam brings out his piece of the believe sign which inspires the rest of the players to bring theirs out.
When Jamie pulls his piece of the sign out, we see he kept his book from Ted and we can assume he’s been reading it!
Team puts the puzzle pieces of the sign together,
4 things to make Total Football work - the 4th thing finally becomes clear! (1) Conditioning (2) Versatility (3) Awareness and (4) Believe.
There’’s no place like AFC Richmond… Lesson: you can create an amazing culture and do big things TOGETHER. Everyone has to buy-in.
Rupert tells his manager George to take out Jamie Tarty then pushes George to the ground. Showing he has completely lost ability for self-control. Now everyone is seeing the darker side of Rupert that he’s been hiding. The entire crowd calls him a “wanker” as we leaves.
West Ham score a goal and everyone is devastated but Ted saw that a player was off-side. Shows Ted’s growth and increased knowledge of football!
Ted invites Nate up for the last play of the game, using one of Nates plays, Jamie plays his part and fakes like he wants the ball, everyone comes together to make it work seamlessly.
Colin gets to kiss his boyfriend after they win the game… shows his growth and willingness to be vulnerable in a professional sport.
Ted finally does the running man with the team after they win. Not sure there is a lesson here, it’s just a fun callback to the first episode.
Rebecca decides to keep the club, but sells 49% of shares to fans - showing she is really embracing the team and her chosen family.
Rebecca comes to see Ted at the airport to say a proper goodbye. They share touching moments together, saying simply “thank you” but there is so much more behind those two words for each of them. They have a deep respect for one another and they know they have changed each others lives. Lesson: Tell the people you love why you’re grateful for them and tell them in detail!
Beard finally tells Ted that he doesn’t want to go home with him but he doesn’t want to let him down. Then he has to fake an appendix rupture to get off the plane. Lesson: Don’t be afraid to tell the people you love how you really feel, they will support you! We think people won’t be supportive
Rebecca meets her mystery man outside the airport!! Lesson: You never know what surprises the universe has in store for you!
Beard and Ted gives thoughts on Trent’s book. Beard has lots of notes, Ted simply has one, that he suggests it’s not about him, it’s about the team. Trent changes the title to “The Richmond Way.” Lesson: If you focus on the bigger picture and not on getting the credit, you can have a bigger impact. Note: Paradoxically, the show is still called “Ted Lasso” but I think this opens things up for future spin-off possibilities.
Rebecca names Roy the new manager. Her pushing him throughout this season comes full circle as he steps into this larger role. Lesson: We have to put ourselves in uncomfortable situations in order to grow and take on new challenges.
Sam finally gets to play on the Nigerian national team! Lesson: Never give up on your dreams!
Jamie and his Dad reconcile, his Dad clearly committed to recovery. Shows that you can mend relationships if you ask for the help you need!
Basil, Jeremy, and Paul (the 3 main fans) get one share of the AFC Richmond club!
Keeley changes the name of her firm to KBPR to incorporate Barbara. It shows how inclusive Keeley is.
Roy has a session with Sharon! Shows his growth and dedication to becoming a better version of himself. Lesson: Everyone can benefit from external help and guidance.
