12 Simple Ways to Improve Mental Health and Wellness on World Mental Health Day

12 Simple Ways to Improve Mental Health and Wellness on World Mental Health Day

October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I want to take a moment to remind everyone how important it is to prioritize your mental well-being. 💚

As someone who has faced burnout, anxiety, and depression, I know how daunting mental health struggles can be. But I also know that with the right tools, support, and mindset, healing is possible.

Here are a few things I’ve learned on my journey:✨

  • It's okay not to be okay. You don't have to have it all figured out, and asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

  • Self-care is essential. It’s not just about bubble baths and meditation—it's about creating healthy boundaries, saying no when you need to, and listening to what your body and mind are telling you.

  • Progress isn't linear. Some days are harder than others, but small steps forward can lead to big changes over time. Give yourself grace.

  • You're not alone. Mental health struggles can feel isolating, but remember that many people are facing similar battles. There’s strength in vulnerability and community.

It’s not enough to normalize these conversations, we each have to take action...

The most important thing you can do today (and every day) is to be proactive in caring for your mental health and reach out if you need help.

Mental health isn't about just being in crisis... you can also support your mental health to empower well-being and enhance mental performance.

It’s also important to practice wellness habits when you *aren’t* in crisis because it will (1) reduce the chances of being in crisis and (2) train your nervous system to respond more quickly to these tools when you are in crisis.
