15 Essential Traits of Great Leaders
This list is based on 15 years of studying leadership, studying good and bad leaders, diving into psychology and neuroscience, analyzing studies - as well as thousands of hours of my own research and coaching others.
Great Leadership requires intentionality and focused effort.
The most important of all these traits?
Invest in the goals & development of those around you.
Said differently: Care about people and what's best for them, not what's best for you.
Another important trait I want to call out: Being willing to have "uncomfortable" conversations.
I put "uncomfortable" in quotes because It's all about perspective... if you truly care about the other person and want to see them win, the conversation becomes much less uncomfortable.
Most of us avoid those conversations because WE will have to feel awkward, but the truth is we are doing others a disservice by not providing helpful feedback and guidance.
